Pane resource usage

Polypane tracks the memory and single-core CPU usage of each pane in real-time, showing you warnings when they reach specific thresholds for a sustained period.

These indicators help you monitor the performance of your site on each pane and identify potential resource bottlenecks early. They measure the resources your page consumes.

CPU Usage

CPU usage is expressed as a percentage of a single CPU core. The indicator will become visible at > 60% and change to a warning state at > 90%.

Note that your CPU usage can also exceed 100% on multi-core systems, as it is measured per single core.

Memory Usage

Memory usage is shown in absolute terms (MB or GB). The indicator will become visible at > 600MB and change to a warning state at > 1.2GB.

Turn off usage reporting

You can turn off resource usage reporting in the global Polypane settings in the top right of the app by unchecking 'Resource usage per pane', or by calling the 'Toggle resource usage per pane' command in the command bar.
